I took some photos at the Blooming Tasmania Festival in Launceston at the Albert Hall last week. The Albert Hall is on the edge of City Park. Most of the exhibits were inside, but there were a handful outside. More of them later..

Ferns, from Fernmania. They sell tree ferns. You can see some there.

It wasn’t all plants, but also things made from or inspired by plants.

There was also a pair of pears.

An interesting thing.

Australian Native Plants Society. I managed to escape with just a bookmark and a leaflet about an upcoming sale. No, didn’t want membership booklet. No garden!

Hellebores! Also known at Winter Roses, because they flower over winter. Why don’t more people grow them?

Bridestowe Lavender, who also selling lavender-scented goats’ milk soap. Just saying.

Now I’d have one of these are a desk ornament, if I had a bigger desk.

And something things didn’t really have a plant connection.

These are interesting, but I didn’t get the maker’s name. Removable wallpaper/friezes. The backing stuff means they can be removed from the wall and reused.

There is more to succulents than just cheap plants to fill that gap where nothing else will grow. ($35???)

City council’s display blends into the park.

This is artificial grass. At the front. At the back, it’s park grass.

Sometimes these topiary frames seem like cheating. Sometimes they seem like a way to get really cool garden ornaments. OK most of the time they do.
