Cnr of Brisbane and George Streets, Launceston. Blundells is on the corner that now has Holyman House (the big white place with the travel agents that isn’t the Flight Centre). This is before 1912. Larger version
The two-storey building on the right is next door to the Princess Theatre which isn’t there (it opened 1911, and if you ever wondered what it looked like because it got Art Deco-ed up in the 40s, you can look here.)
“Launceston from Wind Mill Hill, Tasmanian, Australia”. Prominent features are two church steeples (Methodist/Uniting & Presbyterian near the library), the post office pepperpot and the tower seen in the previous postcard. This one is pre-1910.
The post office clock which isn’t there. (It was finished in 1910.)
